Overview

If you want one set to cover the usual home-kitchen cutting jobs, the Khaki 6-piece Elements set starts with five distinct knives and adds a matching countertop block.

The smaller end of the set is covered by the 8.6cm paring knife and 11.5cm serrated utility knife. For broader prep there is a 19.6cm chef’s knife and compact 11.5cm Santoku, while the 19cm carving knife handles slicing cooked roasts and poultry.

Each knife uses a stainless-steel blade with an ABS handle. The Khaki Edge block measures 22.8 x 18 x 10.8cm and combines recycled PP with stainless steel over a non-slip base, giving the knives individual storage away from loose drawer utensils.

For longer-lasting sharpness, use wooden or plastic boards and wash the blades by hand even though dishwasher use is permitted. Avoid hard stone, glass and marble cutting surfaces, and never leave sharp knives hidden in washing-up water.

Care and use

Handle the knives carefully while cutting
Use a wooden or plastic cutting board. Avoid marble, stone and glass, which can dull or chip the blades
The knives are dishwasher friendly, but hand washing is recommended to preserve the edges and prevent contact damage
Dry the knives promptly and place them securely in the block without allowing the blades to knock together
